چکیده

INTRODUCTION Soft biological tissues, such as articular cartilage, can be represented by a porous matrix saturated by a fluid and reinforced by a network of statistically oriented fibres. The permeability of such tissues has been previously modelled and implemented for small deformations [1,2]. Recently, a new mathematical model has been proposed for the study of permeability under large deformations [3] and has been incorporated with non-linear elasticity models [4].

Deformation Characteristics of Composite Structures

The composites provide design flexibility because many of them can be moulded into complex shapes. The carbon fibre-reinforced epoxy composites exhibit excellent fatigue tolerance and high specific strength and stiffness which have led to numerous advanced applications ranging from the military and civil aircraft structures to the consumer products. However, the modelling of the beams undergoin...

Fractional Thermoelasticity Model of a 2D Problem of Mode-I Crack in a Fibre-Reinforced Thermal Environment

A model of fractional-order of thermoelasticity is applied to study a 2D problem of mode-I crack in a fibre-reinforced thermal environment. The crack is under prescribed distributions of heat and pressure. The normal mode analysis is applied to deduce exact formulae for displacements, stresses, and temperature. Variations of field quantities with the axial direction are illustrated graphically....

Rayleigh Wave in an Incompressible Fibre-Reinforced Elastic Solid Half-Space

In this paper, the equation of motion for an incompressible transversely isotropic fibre-reinforced elastic solid is derived in terms of a scalar function.   The general solution of the equation of motion is obtained, which satisfies the required radiation condition.  The appropriate traction free boundary conditions are also satisfied by the solution to obtain the required secular equation for...

Modelling the effective elasto-plastic properties of unidirectional composites reinforced by fibre bundles under transverse tension and shear loading

The effect of fibre bundling on the effective transverse properties of unidirectional fibre composites has been investigated by way of finite element method and micromechanics models of fibre bundles. Based on the micromechanical model of single-fibre composites, plane strain models for composites reinforced by fibre bundles are presented. The effective elasto-plastic stress /strain behaviour w...

Small Scale Effects on the Large Amplitude Nonlinear Vibrations of Multilayer Functionally Graded Composite Nanobeams Reinforced with Graphene-Nanoplatelets

The main purpose of the present investigation is to analyze more comprehensively the size-dependent nonlinear free vibration response of multilayer functionally graded graphene platelet-reinforced composite (GPLRC) nanobeams. As a consequence, both of the hardening stiffness and softening stiffness of size effect are taken into consideration by implementation of the nonlocal str...
